📐 TRIGONOMETRY ESSENTIALS

🔸 Ratios & Identities

sin θ = opp/hyp, cos θ = adj/hyp, tan θ = sin/cos

Key identities: sin²θ + cos²θ = 1, 1+tan²θ = sec²θ

sin(90°-θ)=cosθ, cos(90°-θ)=sinθ

📈 Graphs

sinθ (red) & cosθ (blue) – periodic, amplitude 1

NEET angle values: sin0=0, sin30=1/2, sin45=1/√2, sin60=√3/2, sin90=1. Same for cos but reversed.

📈 CALCULUS FOR PHYSICS

⚡ Differentiation

d/dx (xⁿ) = n xⁿ⁻¹    d/dx (sin x) = cos x

d/dx (cos x) = -sin x    d/dx (eˣ) = eˣ

Velocity = dx/dt, Acceleration = dv/dt

📦 Integration

∫ xⁿ dx = xⁿ⁺¹/(n+1) + C   (n≠-1)

∫ sin x dx = -cos x + C   ∫ cos x dx = sin x + C

Area under v-t graph = displacement

📌 Product rule: d(uv)/dx = u dv/dx + v du/dx

🧭 VECTOR FUNDAMENTALS

Vector: quantity with magnitude & direction (e.g., displacement, velocity, force). Scalar: only magnitude (mass, time).

➕ Vector Addition

Triangle law: R = A + B (head-to-tail)

Magnitude: |R| = √(A² + B² + 2AB cos θ)

Direction: tan α = (B sin θ)/(A + B cos θ)

Parallelogram law same formula.

➖ Subtraction

A – B = A + (-B)   (reverse direction of B)

|A – B| = √(A² + B² – 2AB cos θ)

🔍 RESOLUTION & UNIT VECTORS

Any vector can be broken into components: A = Aₓ î + Aᵧ ĵ + A₂ k̂

Aₓ = A cos θ, Aᵧ = A sin θ (2D)

Magnitude: |A| = √(Aₓ² + Aᵧ² + A₂²)

Unit vector: â = A / |A| (direction only).
î, ĵ, k̂ represent x, y, z axes.

⚡ DOT PRODUCT & CROSS PRODUCT

🔵 Dot (Scalar) Product

A·B = |A||B| cos θ = AₓBₓ + AᵧBᵧ + A₂B₂

Result: scalar. Used for work (W = F·d).

î·ĵ = 0, î·î = 1

🟢 Cross (Vector) Product

|A×B| = |A||B| sin θ, direction ⊥ to plane (right-hand rule).

A×B = (AᵧB₂ – A₂Bᵧ)î + ... (determinant)

Torque τ = r × F, angular momentum L = r × p
NEET shortcut: For perpendicular vectors, dot=0, cross magnitude = AB.

🎯 APPLICATIONS IN NEET

Relative Velocity
VAB = VA – VB (vector subtraction). Rain–man problems.
Projectile Motion
Initial velocity u at angle θ → uₓ = u cosθ, uᵧ = u sinθ. Range = u² sin2θ/g.
Equilibrium
ΣF = 0 → vector sum zero. Lami’s theorem.

PYQ insight: Dot product questions often appear with work done, cross product with torque. Vector subtraction for relative velocity (NEET 2020).

💡 NEET TIPS & TRICKS

  • sin θ ≈ θ (radians) for small angles – used in SHM.
  • Maximum resultant: when θ=0°, |A+B|; minimum: θ=180°, |A–B|.
  • For vector addition, always use component method to avoid mistakes.
  • Unit vector along direction: (position vector)/magnitude.
